Future Food System House by JOOST

The Future Food System house is the brainchild of designer and zero-waste advocate Joost Bakker.  This experimental home is ‘a self-sustaining, zero waste, productive house that demonstrates the potential of our home to provide shelter, produce food and generate energy’.

Kaas Interiors aided in the kitchen design of this truly unique project located in Federation Square, Melbourne.

This kitchen was manufactured using materials including compressed straw, recycled skateboards, zinc and natural timber and incorporates appliances by Miele.

Please visit the Future Food Systems website to view and take a virtual tour of the entire home and food system.
